One of my dogs chewed my charging cord, and the three replacements that I bought online will not charge while the laptop is running. It has to be off or in sleep mode. I can’t find a new charger for it anywhere that will work, and I can’t find a genuine HP charger either. Any ideas?

Charger for your machine is  a Smart AC power adapter (200 watt) - 4.5mm barrel connector, slim form factor, with power factor correction (PFC)  part # 835888-001
