Good day,
My laptop HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2345ng , has a black screen, however it functions normally on an external monitor.

it seemed that the laptop does not recognize its own monitor and i would like to do a full diagnosis with the help of my professor, but i do require the pins and hand book of the device, to see the electrical pins on the motherboard.

if it is possible i want to  acquire the plans of the circuitries of the device so we could diagnose the issue and possibly reprogram any necessary parts.

thank you for the help in advance.

Hi @Noratech

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I apologize, but I'm unable to provide detailed internal schematics, such as electrical pin layouts or plans for the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2345ng, as this information is typically proprietary and not publicly available.

However, I can suggest some general troubleshooting steps that might help with the black screen issue:

Check Display Settings:

  • Ensure that the laptop is set to use its built-in display. You can use the Windows Display Settings to verify this by connecting to an external monitor first.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can update them through the Device Manager or the manufacturer's website.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check if there is a BIOS or UEFI update available for your laptop model on HP’s official website.

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Shut down the laptop, unplug it from the power source, and remove the battery if possible. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power. Then reassemble and power it on.

Hardware Check:

  • Since you have access to a professor and are conducting a full diagnosis, if comfortable, check the cable connections internally if you have the skillset. However, ensure this is done by someone with experience in handling laptop hardware.

For obtaining a service manual, which may include some disassembly instructions and troubleshooting tips, you can check on the official HP support website or contact HP support for assistance.

They may be able to provide guidance on where you can access detailed service information suitable for repairs and diagnostics.

Good Day,
Regarding point one, the device doesn't seem to recognise its own monitor and has assigned display one to the external monitor.

Point two: my graphic drivers are up to date, or at least that is the response i get when attempting to update them.

Point three; i cannot access bios as i cannot use my external monitor to open bios, i attempted a bios update but without blind key instruction it seems that the update has not gone through.

Point four: that was attempted the first time i diagnosed the device with my professor.

Point five would only work if we have a better grasp on the device inputs and outputs using a  manual, which is kinda the thing i have been seeking.

i am still unsure who to contact for such manual as i thought this was the place to ask in the first place.

thank you again for the attempt, i wouldn't mind a more detailed approach to point one and three as in case i missed something in one. I am welling to try three again if there is a blind instruction for an update available or a suitable way to run bios on an external monitor, so far i only found that it is impossible with most hp devices.

again i appreciate the attempt but the nearest available trusted shop is at least 12h away in train and i do not think its worth the travel seeing that with the appropriate manual i could run the same diagnostics with my professor.
