Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

It hap been only 2 weeks after I bought my  Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx laptop, first it used to charge battery at normal speed, but now it takes a lot of time to charge, after 2 hours of charging it only charges 10 percent of the battery. I ran the battery test, ac adapter test from the bios and it didn't show any problem, and I have no idea what the actual problem is.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and check if that helps

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter ( For Notebooks with Removable Batteries )
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter and restart

Next update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

If the issue persists run a Battery Test again to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

Let me know how it goes 😊

Well, I recently realized that the problem only exits if the laptop hibernates or wakes up from hibernation, the problem disappears if I hibernate it again, but the problem exists,  cause the laptop suddenly hibernates while I am playing games, which is yet the another problem that I am facing.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

It didn't help, the problem still exists. Whenever I play games while the charger is plugged in, the laptop hibernates and after waking up the charging speed is too slow, I have to hibernate it again for it to charge normally.

Please try these steps

Click Start > Type Power Option > Open the Power Options Settings choose " Change advance power settings " at the bottom. > In the Power Option Box scroll look for sleep > Allow hybrid Sleep- ON >  Allow Wake Timers - ON

Next Scroll down to Processor Management Power > Maximum Processor  State - 100 % both for Battery and Plugged In

Since your notebook is new, maybe it already mount the last bios version (f.08), that is bugged. Check your current version and try to downgrade to f.05 version, if you have the f.08.
