Bought the Omen in November, hardly used except for streaming occasionally since.
Recently, it keeps switching off after 1.5 hours whilst streaming. It will turn off 2-3x in quick succession. It has switched off both plugged in and running off battery.
In bios, the quick and extended checks say everything is fine. I noticed the internal fan wasn't turned to always on, changed this today and it's still switched off twice.
It is plugged into an external fanned rest too by usb.
It is plugged in to the mains most of the time, but as I understand it, overcharging isn't a thing.
Virus scan says everything is fine. Updates are up-to-date.

It helps us better if you also include the full model or product number of your computer so we know what we're dealing with.
You can find it in the HP Support Assistant.
This happens while watching videos from YouTube, etc. or are you streaming content out like Twitch?
The first thing I look for if the machine randomly shuts down is to monitor the temperatures. Use a tool like the Omen Command Center or HWMonitor (download). Monitor the cpu and gpu temps to see if its overheating.
It could also be something you installed. You can run Windows in a clean state (disabling services), then add them back a few at a time to test with. It might be driver related. There is also an issue with Windows updates recently. What version of Windows are you running? Type winver in the Search bar and hit the Enter key. A box will pop up and tell you the exact version. Build 17763.348 is not recommended at this time.
Ultimately, because you are warrantied, you should contact HP Support directly and create a claim to get more personalised help. If a hardware fault is at hand, they will have it repaired.
