No Camera on Device Manager

Hello, 
I own a Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598V0AV) with 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Windows 11 edition, and OS build 26100.4061. I seem to have deleted the driver for my camera application. But prior to this issue, the camera already stopped working. Is there any way I can fix this by myself (download a camera driver) or should I just see a professional? Thank you!

Steps to Fix Your Camera Issue

 

1. Check for Windows Updates

• Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
• Sometimes, Windows will automatically reinstall missing drivers.

 

2. Manually Install the Camera Driver

• Visit HP’s official driver page for your Victus by HP 15-fb0000.
• Look for the camera driver under available downloads.
• Download and install it, then restart your laptop.

 

3. Use HP Support Assistant

• Download HP Support Assistant from HP’s website.
• Open the app and check for updates—it may detect and install the missing camera driver.

 

4. Scan for Hardware Changes in Device Manager

• Open Device Manager (Windows + X → **Device Manager`).
• Click Action → Scan for hardware changes.
• If the camera appears, right-click it and select Update driver → Search automatically for updated driver software.

 

5. Install a Generic Camera Driver

• If HP doesn’t provide a specific driver, try installing the generic Microsoft camera driver:
  • Open Device Manager → Imaging Devices (or Cameras).
  • Right-click and select Update driver → Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list.
  • Choose USB Video Device and install it.
