Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

There is no audio at all with speakers or with headphones connected into the audio jack. I tryed trouble shooting and updating drivers. When I go to sounds it won't let me run a test because it is unclickable. (I don't know the word for it). In the playback the speakers also don't show up even with "show disabled devices on." I don't know what to do at this point.

Step 1: Run the sound problems troubleshooter

  1. Right-click the notification area speaker icon , and then select Troubleshoot sound problems.

  2. Select the device you want to troubleshoot, and then click Next to start the troubleshooter.

  3. If a recommended action displays, select Apply this fix, and then test for sound.

Thanks for the help but none of it worked. I just downloaded a driver updater and it did the job.

@icanread In my defense, the steps 2 of the link I shared, suggests the same thing, downloading/installing a driver update!

Nevertheless, I'm glad it worked out for you.

And if you feel my post was helpful, hit the "accept as solution" button to help others find the solution, followed by the thumbs up button to say thanks 😉
