Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

the speakers were working just fine before i reset my laptop.

ps:  the laptop ins brand new (1 week)

reason for reseting the PC: some DLL files for DirectX were not found and i was not able to reinstall or repair it. I am running low on time for a very important project deadline so as desperate measure i reset my laptop. Now DirectX worked but now my audio doesnt work.

@Depressed_gamer (Hopefully! not depressed for long) Hey! I must say you've covered almost all the steps I had in mind to suggest a fix:

Here’re 6 solutions you can try to fix the problem.

You may not have to try them all, just work your way down until you find the one that works for you:

Solution 1: Install the driver using the HP Website: Click here to access it
Solution 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Realtek audio driver
Solution 3: Add legacy hardware before installing the driver
Solution 4: Fix driver conflicts
Solution 5: Reinstall Windows - using the steps on this link:
Solution 6: Replace a sound card

Let me know if you need more details on each of the above steps, the ones you haven't done yet.

I hope that answers your query,
