the speakers were working just fine before i reset my laptop.
ps: the laptop ins brand new (1 week)
reason for reseting the PC: some DLL files for DirectX were not found and i was not able to reinstall or repair it. I am running low on time for a very important project deadline so as desperate measure i reset my laptop. Now DirectX worked but now my audio doesnt work.
Changes that i have noticed in device manager:
things that i have tried:
- reseting the laptop again - no change whatsoever
- trying to update the drivers
- uninstalled the drivers and pressed scan for hardware changes - no change
- uninstalled the drivers and tried to install the correct drives i got from hp driver support for my model - no luck
- tried everything here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-dc0000-laptop-pc/20329817/model/24514934/document...
- tried hp PC hardware diagnostic tool
- install latest windows updates - no improvement
- tried driver booster: https://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php - it installed a driver under sound, video and game contollers but it did not solve anything
- tried intel driver support assistant - no luck
- system restore points - didnt work
- sfc/ scannow - no integrity violations
- i did do some other small things with luck whatsover
- rinse and repeat all the above steps for the past 22hrs
i have some really important deadlines to make( project related to audio processing) and have my final exams in a couple of days. please can anyone save me please

@Depressed_gamer (Hopefully! not depressed for long) Hey! I must say you've covered almost all the steps I had in mind to suggest a fix:
Here’re 6 solutions you can try to fix the problem.
You may not have to try them all, just work your way down until you find the one that works for you:
Solution 1: Install the driver using the HP Website: Click here to access it
Solution 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Realtek audio driver
Solution 3: Add legacy hardware before installing the driver
Solution 4: Fix driver conflicts
Solution 5: Reinstall Windows - using the steps on this link: Click here
Solution 6: Replace a sound card
Let me know if you need more details on each of the above steps, the ones you haven't done yet.
I hope that answers your query,
