I just got a 2023 HP Omen, i5 RTX 4050 and there’s no support for the RGB in the Omen Hub. Is this a bait from the marketing department or what exactly?

Hi @Kelmatty,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've recently purchased a 2023 HP Omen laptop with expected RGB lighting features, but find that there is no support for RGB in the Omen Gaming Hub, this can be confusing. Here are some steps and explanations to consider:

Check for Software Updates:

  • Ensure that the Omen Gaming Hub software is up to date. Updates often bring new features and additional support for various components, including RGB lighting.

Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub:

  • Uninstall the current version of Omen Gaming Hub, then download and install the latest version from the HP website.

Inspect HP Omen Features:

  • Verify your specific model's specifications to confirm that it comes with RGB customizable features. Sometimes, models may vary in available features, even within the same family line.

Driver Updates:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant to check for any other firmware or driver updates that might be related to LED control or the system board.

Note:

Feature Variability: Not all configurations of a model necessarily come with full RGB support. Some units may come pre-configured with single-color backlighting, which might not offer software-control options for full RGB customization.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
