Tap the ESC key after powering on to run diagnostics.
Alternately go into the bios
If the touchpad fails in BIOS or diagnostics then
Click here to check warranty
and
Click here for world-wide contact info
if it only fails in windows then you need to roll back the current driver as a windows update caused the problem.
Rollback the driver that the Device Managers shows as failing or is the wrong one.
