OMEN 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-am0000 (A57X8AV)

I recently bought a new OMEN 16 laptop, but I’m having trouble running Valorant. Every time I try to open the game, it either shows an error message or gets stuck on the loading screen and never starts.

I’ve already tried restarting, updating Windows, and making sure my graphics drivers are up to date, but the issue still happens.

Has anyone faced something similar or know how to fix it?
Any help would be really appreciated!

Hi @Sukuti,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how disappointing it can be when your OMEN 16-inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-am0000 (A57X8AV) doesn’t launch Valorant, especially after you've taken all the right steps to update Windows, graphics drivers, and restarting your system.

Let’s walk through the steps to help you resolve this issue and get back into the game.

Steps to Fix Valorant Launch Issues

1. Run Valorant as Administrator

  • Right-click the Valorant shortcut or Riot Client.
  • Select “Run as administrator”.
  • Wait at least 30 seconds; some systems take time to initialize the game.

2. Reinstall Riot Vanguard (Anti-Cheat)

Corrupted anti-cheat files can prevent Valorant from launching.

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
  2. Find Riot Vanguard, right-click, and uninstall.
  3. Restart your laptop.
  4. Launch Valorant again it will reinstall Vanguard automatically.

3. Enable VGC Service

Valorant requires its anti-cheat service to be running.

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Locate vgc, right-click, and select Start.
  3. Double-click it and set Startup type to Automatic.

4. Check Secure Boot and TPM 2.0

Valorant requires Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 to be enabled on Windows 11.

  • Search for tpm.msc and confirm TPM is active.
  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS.
  • In BIOS, ensure Secure Boot is enabled.

If Secure Boot is disabled, Valorant may fail to launch. HP recommends keeping Secure Boot enabled for optimal compatibility and security.

5. Install Valorant on the C: Drive

Some users experience issues when Valorant is installed on a secondary drive.

  • Uninstall Valorant.
  • Reinstall it on your primary system drive (C:).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
