Hello,
I have recently purchased a OMEN HP 17-cb0056tx gaming laptop and am trying to upgrade my SSD. The SSD that came with my computer is only 128gb and most of that is used up by windows and other system apps before I add anything to it. On the Omen website it said the SSD is upgrade-able so I went and bought what should be a compatible SSD. I bought a Western Digital WD Blue 1TB 3D NAND M.2 SSD, but when I tried to replace them the new SSD isn't detected.
This laptop has another SSD drive but I'd need to get an tech shop to solder in the connection first, which I don't know how much that'd cost so I'd rather try to sort it out this way if possible first.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06410971
It has
- 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA
- 128 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
I believe you wish to replace the 128GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. Both Crucial P1 and Samsung 970EVO has same shape and length (80mm). Your old 128GB may be a bit shorter, that's all. BUT the slot is for 88mm.

Western Digital WD Blue 1TB 3D NAND M.2 SSD is a SATA SSD and your machine supports NVMe SSD (faster) such as Crucial P1 or Samsung 070 EVO.
Please try those.
