OMEN X by HP 2S 15-dg0020nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased an OMEN X by HP 2S 15-dg0020nr. I added a second 2TB M.2 2280 drive,  a WD Blue 3D NAND 2TB Internal SSD - SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 2280 Solid State Drive - WDS200T2B0B. Works great so I bought another. I was able to clone the boot drive from the 1TB to the same WD 2TB drive. The issue I am having is I can't get both 2TB drives to work together. I can't find any information on this either on the web or in the maintenance guide. The M.2 slots are x4 and they should support any M.2 drive as long as it's keyed correctly.

Odd thing is I can remove one of the 2TB drives and I'm able to boot from my cloned 2TB drive as long as it's in the slot closest to the center pf the laptop. If I move it to the outside slot it will not boot. However the 1TB drive will boot. So I can't really figure out if these slots are specc'ed differently or if the laptop just will not support two 2TB drives at the same time. There is really nothing in the BIOS related to installed drives.

Any suggestions would be welcome?

@TheCodeMan Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to add two SSD.

I have checked the manual

Multiple storage Configuration

1 TB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC + 1 TB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC, RAID 0

512 GB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC + 512 GB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC, RAID 0

256 GB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC + 256 GB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC, RAID 0

Please use the above configuration only.
