The hard drive went bad, so as I am replacing that and adding memory I was wondering if there was a slot on the motherboard to add an upgraded video card. The one currently is built-in, so I will just disable it if another card can be added.

Thanks

Hi:

There are no slots to add a graphics card in your notebook.

The only way to upgrade the graphics would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with better graphics.

The cost of the part alone (if you could even find one), would probably cost more than you originally paid for the notebook.

Below is the link to the service manual.

The motherboard is DAG35DMBAD0, and I haven't been able to locate schematics.

Would adding a m.2 SSD help much? Mine did not come with one so the slot is empty. I am unsure if would be much of a boost or not.

Looking at the manual, it appears that M.2 NVMe SSD's are supported.

I would definitely consider replacing the mechanical hard drive with a NVMe M.2 SSD.

Look at the crucial memory/SSD report for your notebook.

Notice the read/write speeds of the NVMe SSD drives vice the SATA SSD's.

You could imagine how much faster the NVMe drive would be over the mechanical hard drive, because a SATA SSD would also have been much faster.

If you don't need a lot of storage space, just go with a 500 GB M.2 NVMe drive, and forget about replacing the 2.5" drive.

Or you could get a 1 TB M.2 NVMe drive and have the same storage space.
