hi my roomates network card is playing up so i was wondering if i took my network card out of my omen 17 laptop would it work for him as i know this card plays well with the network and i use wired eithernet so i won't be missing out on the wifi anyway im asking as i noticed two little cables coming of from the card so was wondering if it would work on a desktop or not.

Hi:

 

You would have to know what form factor wireless card your friend's desktop PC has.

 

Your notebook's wifi card is of the M.2 form factor.

 

If your friend's PC's wireless card is of the same form factor, it should work as long as your friend's PC does not have a BIOS whitelist, and on one here would be able to tell you that for certain.

 

If your friend's PC's wireless card is of the HMC form factor, your notebook's wifi card won't fit, nor will the PC's antenna wires connect to your notebook's wireless card.

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure for your notebook.  The antenna wires are very thin and delicate.  Use extreme care when removing them.
