HP OMEN Notebook - 15-5202tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I've been having trouble to charge my laptop even when it's plugged in lately. Upon opening the base enclosure I noticed the battery is slightly swollen. Judging from the look of the battery I believe I would need to replace the battery.

I'm wondering do HP still sell any RR04 batteries?   If not, what will be the best solution you suggest me to do?

Many thanks

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Yes, the battery should be removed and replaced.

In many cases, we have to purchase a "compatible" battery - HP does not always provide HP brand replacements.

"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery

  • Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated.  For example, notebook case warps or won’t close, touch-pad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.

  • If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced.  There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.
