Omen 15-dc0101TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi HP Community,

My Omen screen has a few dead pixels and some marks left from the keyboard imprinted into the display. I'm looking at replacing the screen myself, however I'm trying to figure out if the display requires a 30 pin connection or a 40 pin connection.

I've found a few eBay sellers who state the screen is compatible however the pins vary between 30 and 40.

Ideally I'd like to upgrade to the 144hz display.
Can anyone suggest the best course of action?

Cheers,

Sto_

Hello @sto_

Unfortunately, HP doesn't give us access to schematics, so I have no way of knowing which set of pins that panel has. I don't have access to one of those laptops to take apart.

I would appear that the 60Hz and 144Hz both would have the same configuration since the CTO version of your series can come with either one on the same board.

The HP part numbers for those panels are...

60Hz   -  L24374-001

144Hz - L24376-001

The best way to know which pin configuration it uses is to physically open the case up, look at the cable plug and count the pins.

Here is the manual, page 64 shows how to disassemble the panel...

That is the best I can offer, hope it helps.

Note: Do realize your system only came with a GTX 1050 graphics card. Pushing high end games at 144Hz will not be ideal for that GPU and you will probably be playing at the lowest settings, depending on the game.
