Product: OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-k0000 (594K2AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what pcie generation the m.2 storage slots on my omen 16 gaming note book with core i7 12700h and nvidia 3060 graphics card use? I know 12th gen Intel is capable of up to pcie gen5 on desktop I just want to add more storage and maximize its speed

Hi:

 

According to chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual, only PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD's are supported.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

 

The Intel specs for your notebooks processor make no mention of PCIe Gen 5 SSD's being able to run at the Gen 5 speed.

 

Intel Core i712700H Processor 24M Cache up to 4.70 GHz Product Specifications
