I have an Omen 17 and I want to upgrade the RAM to the maximum of that which the motherboard/processor can handle. Any tips and suggestions on RAM chips or specifications?

Several of us recommend Crucial Memory because of their excellent guarantee.

But you can go with what ever brand you wish.
It will use DDR4 2666 MHz 1.2v laptop memory and its stated in the manual I linked earlier.

Hello @IIWiltedII
According to your specs, you should currently have 12GB of ram.
It will support up to 32GB of memory. Page 1 of your manual... http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06001792
Were you thinking of replacing one stick and making it 16GB or replacing both for 32GB?
What ever you decide, both sticks timings and voltage should match to run more efficiently. If you purchase one new stick, use a tool like CPUz to find the current timings. IF you buy all new ram, get a set that is matched already.
