Product Name: OMEN by HP - 17t-an100 CTO
My Notebook battery hasn't been working for the past few years now. It happened a couple of months after purchase. It keeps showing 0% even when charger is plugged-in. Can only use it when it's plugged to a power source. Been trying to reach out to HP support for what to do but it's to no avail no matter how i tried to get through to them. I decided to try and purchase from external sources but non of the batteries were compatible with it so i had to change it back to the one that came with it. Please anyone having the same issues and found away around it should please put me through what was done.

Hi @Muid18,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
To assist better:
- Do you see any exclamation mark(!) or Red X on the battery icon?
- Have you tried to update BIOS or performed a hard reset?
If you haven't tried BIOS update and performed a hard reset. kindly follow the below instructions:
Hard Reset: Follow the steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
BIOS default:
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked to Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Hope this helps! If the issue persists, keep me posted.

I've tried everything you stated above but the issue still persists. It's like a desktop, immediately i disconnect the AC-adaptor or charger it does go off. The battery literally shows 0% with no (❗) or (❌) . It shows "Battery status: 0% available(plugged in)"
