Omen X Laptop - Model 17-ap011TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there

I updated my Omen X 17-ap011TX Laptop with the latest Windows 10 release - Version 1809 - Build 17763.475 yesterday whilst my Omen Accelerator was connected to my Laptop.

This morning I tried connecting my Laptop to the Accelartor and it is not being detected. I'm assuming this may have something to do with the Thunderbolt 3 Connection, but I'm not sure???

Any help with getting this sorted would be most appreciated. Thanks

@andrewbissett,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Let's try to update the Bios and other drivers using HP Support Assistant. You can download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Let me know how it goes for further assistance!

Hello Jeet_Singh

Thanks for reaching out and for providing a possible solution.

FYI... I contacted HP Support and went through a similar process as to what you explained below; however my Laptop froze halfway through the process and then I was unable to access my Laptop without doing so by going into Safe Mode; however the problem wasn't resolved. So the suggestion was to do a complete reinstall of Windows, which resulted in the majority of my Applications being removed in the process; which was a little scary to say the least. However... I'm glad to say that this has resolved the issue and my Laptop is up and running again.

I'm not entirely sure what caused the problem; however I can only assume that it may have stemmed from me performing the Windows Upgrade via my Wireless Network and that something may have been dropped or corrupted due to the connection. Rest assured I won't be doing that again!

Thanks again for reaching out and offering your advice and help.

Regards
