HP OMEN
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've had an issue for a while now where the OMEN command centre and other thermal monitering software would show an incorrect temp reading. I can tell its not near the listed 50C for the GPU or 70C for CPU (the cpu temp reading never shifts from 70C)

I also belevie this is the cause for some performance issues im having as the system is trying to slow down the CPU and GPU as it thinks its too hot, yet in relaity it's not.

Any help advice or possible soloutions are welcome.

@BrandoXfusion,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Community,

I would recommend you go ahead and run an extensive system test from F2(Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).

If the test fails, I would suggest this could be a possible hardware failure. I would recommend you contact our HP support team for further assistance.

HP support can be reached on www.hp.com/contacthp

If the test passes, I would suggest you update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP support assistant.

Download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

For starters please perform all the prescribed steps from these links to try and fix the issue- HP Notebook PCs - Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly, PC is Warmer than Normal:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01007591

I began an extensive system test and left it to run as it said it would take up to 4 hours to complete, after a short Time I tried to check the progress but the screen would not turn on. upon pressing the power button to attempt to power on, it failed to do so
