When I got the computer I set Omen Gaming Hub to turn all the LEDs off and all was fine. Yesterday I noticed they were on and tried to turn them off and the Hub's control's did nothing. I followed the instructions I found to to Repair, Reset, Uninstall, Reinstall and now it just gets and error and says it can't see any light devices. Any thoughts?

@jlb7676, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It seems like you're experiencing issues with the Omen Gaming Hub's lighting controls not functioning correctly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Connectivity: Ensure that your PC is correctly recognizing the hardware. Sometimes, unplugging and re-plugging any peripherals and restarting the system can help.

Update Drivers and Software: Make sure all your drivers and the Omen Gaming Hub software are up to date. You can find the latest software updates on the HP website or through the Omen Gaming Hub itself.

Reset the BIOS Settings: Sometimes hardware settings can be reset or configured through the BIOS. Restart your computer, enter the BIOS menu, and ensure that all settings related to the lighting are properly configured.

Hardware Diagnostics: Use HP’s diagnostic tools to detect any potential hardware issues. You can access these diagnostics through the BIOS or by contacting HP support for detailed guidance.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please keep in mind this is about the lighting controller for the LEDs. As far as I can tell, there are no diagnostics for it. It is functioning at some level, because the LEDs change.

  1. Is there actually a diagnostic for the Light Controller?
  2. Is there a specific device for it in the Device Manager?  I tried to install/reinstall SP156528 which is the latest Lighting Board Firmware, but it apparently hangs after displaying CheckUSBConnect. This suggests that the controller might be visible as a USB device..
  3. Alternatively, is there a log file for the OMEN Gaming Hub?  This might give me a clue.

An update to Omen Gaming Hub fixed the problem. The Release Notes cited it as specifically fixed. I can't get back to them and verify, but the problem might not have been on HP's side. However, being able to see the issues for Omen Gaming Hub would have saved me much annoyance.
