Just bought this laptop yesterday and it suddenly turned off while playing a non-intensive indie game. It was plugged into power and was barley played on for less than an hour before the laptop shutdown. I've been trying to get it to turn back on by checking the charger and holding the power button for 15-30 seconds. But no luck there.

@Mystifyes, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OMEN Max 16 Not Turning On!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It can be frustrating when a new laptop won't turn on, but here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Power Connections:
- Ensure the charger is properly connected to both the laptop and a functional power outlet.
- Verify that the power LED on the laptop or charger is lit, indicating it's receiving power.
Inspect the AC Adapter and Power Cable:
- Check for any physical damage to the power cable or adapter. If available, try using a different HP-approved adapter to see if the problem persists.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) and unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to drain any residual charge.
- Reconnect the power adapter without any external devices, and try to power on the laptop.
Remove the Battery (if applicable):
- If your OMEN Max 16 allows for battery removal, carefully remove the battery.
- With the battery removed, connect the laptop to the power adapter and try turning it on to check if the battery is causing the issue.
BIOS Recovery (if applicable):
- If the laptop initially starts to boot but then fails, you may need to perform a BIOS recovery. This involves pressing certain key combinations at startup, which may vary depending on the specific model. Refer to the user manual or HP support site for detailed instructions.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
