Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

My omen max turned off complete and suddenly while playing Forza in unleashed. Now it’s been 2 days of trying all kinds of restarts but wont power on at all. I suspect it’s because the Liquid Metal must’ve leaked. I didn’t know at the time but apparently putting this laptop into a bag when it’s hot can cause the liquid Metal to spill. I had this for less than a week. I need help with replacement or refund asap.

Hi @Omenhelpplz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To help us investigate and provide a clear resolution, could you please provide a few additional details?

To better assist you and determine the next steps, could you provide a few more details?

1. Exact model of your Omen Max.
2. Description of what happens when you try to power it on any lights, fans, or error messages?
3. Did you notice any liquid or unusual residue inside or around the laptop?
4. When did the shutdown occur, and have there been any other signs of hardware issues (overheating, unusual sounds)?
5. Did you try using the original charger and connecting directly to a wall outlet?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try (carefully, given the potential liquid metal concern):

  • Perform a hard reset:
    • Disconnect the charger, hold the power button for 30–40 seconds, then reconnect and try powering on.
  • Check the power adapter and outlet:
    • Ensure the laptop is receiving stable power with the original charger.
  • Inspect the laptop for visible damage or leakage:

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
