OMEN by HP Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I noticed crack in my case to the right of the track pad for over a year now, and the bulge kept getting bigger. I never looked into it, mostly because I'm busy, and didn't know how to search for my problem. I asked in a tech savvy discord channel I'm in, and right away, they said it was battery swelling. I looked into it, and it is definitely my battery cracking my case. I looked into recalled HP batteries, and also surprised it wasn't on the list, considering so many people with  2017/2018 Omens have this exact problem. What can I do? 20210429_223250.jpg

Hello
Contact Hp directly if possible
In order to prevent it from getting worse because of the swelling, I advise you to remove it quickly.

I called the battery number you mentioned, and they said it wasn't one of the recalled batteries, but its clearly defective, as its literally breaking the case. I can't call the other HP number as it says there is a fee, and I'm very low income.  What can I do?

Sorry, I cannot give you the same indications as I might have for France.
I have provided what I found on the US site here, unfortunately there is not much I can do to help you
An HP expert, maybe will contact you,, I don't promise anything, wait a bit

Hi @CuddlyAardvark,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!
