Power cycling worked once but now it won't power up after power cycling or Bios (Win+B, Win+V) attempts with chat support. Motherboard? Power supply? Battery's full up.

Hi @CND324150V,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with your PC not powering on.
If your OMEN laptop won't power up despite attempting power cycling and BIOS recovery methods, the issue could be related to the motherboard, power supply, or internal components. Here's a systematic approach to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
Step 1: Basic Checks
- Power Source: Ensure the power adapter is connected properly and the outlet is functional. Try using a different power outlet.
- Adapter and Cable: Inspect the power adapter and cable for any visible damage. If possible, try using another compatible power adapter.
- Battery: Remove the battery (if it's removable) and attempt to power the laptop with just the adapter.
Step 2: Hard Reset
- Disconnect Power:
- Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery.
- Discharge Residual Power:
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect Power:
- Plug the power adapter back in (without the battery, if removable) and try powering on the laptop.
Step 3: Diagnostic LEDs and Sounds
- Power Indicator: Check if any LEDs (power, charging) light up when you try to power on the laptop.
- Sounds: Listen for any beeps or fan noises, which might indicate the laptop is attempting to start up.
Step 4: External Display Check
- Connect to External Monitor: If you have an external monitor, connect your laptop to it. Sometimes, the issue could be with the display rather than the power.
Step 5: Internal Component Checks
- RAM: If you're comfortable opening your laptop, reseat the RAM sticks. Remove them, clean the contacts, and reinsert them.
- Storage Drive: Ensure the storage drive (SSD/HDD) is securely connected.
- Other Peripherals: Disconnect any other peripherals (USB devices, external drives) and try powering on the laptop.
Step 6: BIOS and Firmware
- BIOS Recovery:
- With the laptop off, hold the Win + B (or Win + V) keys and then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but continue holding the Win + B (or Win + V) keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's likely a hardware problem that may require repair. It could be a faulty motherboard, power supply circuit, or other internal components. Contact HP phone support for service options.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
