Why did you not complain about this immediately ?

(1) Update BIOS

Why should you install the update ?

Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

  • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
  • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.
  • HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.

In your case: Service is required !

- Thermal paste for CPU GPU and bridges should be renewed
- The function of the fan(s) must be checked
- General cleaning ...

HP warranty is valid => HP Support Technician should do it.

No HP warranty => You should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.

I had the same problems with my 2020 model Ryzen 7 4800H/RTX 2060 - The max operating temperature for Ryzen 7 4800H has been reported to be 105c (it will throttle/lose performance if constantly at that level) but a lot of users have reported bad/poor factory application of thermal paste on many Omen 15 models.

Also, you should consider a cooling pad/laptop stand as it will contribute towards good airflow (you won't notice big improvements, but it certainly helps). I got one from Amazon and you can also plug an AC adapter into it to get a bit more power from the fans.

Hope this helped!
