HP Omen 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a question regarding the "normal" temperature of the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H. So I recently bought the HP Omen 15 which has the ryzen 7 4800H as its processor. With this laptop comes instaled an app called OMEN Command Center which tells me the temperature my CPU and GPU are running. Basically, the deal is: I've noticed that when the laptop is plugged-in the CPU gets very hot, constantly, doing normal tasks like browsing the web. The minimum temperature it reaches is like 40ºC and the maximum is 70ºC being ~50+ºC the average temperature it runs. This bothers me because, when it reaches the 60+ºC zone, the fans start to work kinda loud, to cool the CPU, which doesn't happen when my laptop is not charging. When the laptop isn't plugged-in the temperature of the CPU is almost always the same, between 30-40ºC. So, it's basically a difference of temperature between charging and not-charging of 20ºC which, seems a lot. My question is if this situation is normal and if it could damage my CPU in the long run?

Hi @W8_4_it.Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is overheating.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I would like to inform you that 90C is normal on the gaming computer. I recommend you use the Omen command center to change the settings which suit your needs.
