i got an HP laptop that wont come on/won't boot.the charger light comes on when i plug it in & the power button lights up when i try to turn it on but it wont come on. The power button lights up,but blinks a few times and goes off.But the Screen never lights up.it did once for a few minutes. Got the computer yesterday.. it came on & worked just fine.but it had a screen lock password.so I shut it off to charge.now it won't come on.the power button comes on for a minute but then blinks twice and goes out.

Im a little confused... the computer turned on when you got it out of the box, but Windows needed a password to get in?

Or it opened fine until you left it alone for a while and the screen lock appeared?

If you made a Windows password, you would use that to get passed the screen lock.

Try a hard reset that sometimes works, sometimes not.

Unplug the power cord, then hold the power button down for 30 secs.

Then plug it back in and see if it powers on and stays on long enough to sign in.

Also, did you order the PC online or did you purchase from a physical store in your area?

I would return it for an exchange if its still giving you problems.
