So my laptop has 8 gb of ddr4 2990mhz ram and i wanted to buy new ram and i found sticks that are 3200mhz but i am not sure if the laptop supports 3200mhz and just to clarify i will be removing the old ram stick so just the new ram will be installed. So my question is can the laptop run 3200mhz ram ?

Hi:
Yes, DDR4-3200 memory should work fine, and it will automatically bridge to 2933 MHz to match the speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.
I recommend you buy one of the DDR4-3200 memory chips from Crucial since they guarantee compatibility.
Buy one that has the green circuit board, not the performance memory.
