Microsoft Windows 11

Since I got my laptop it runs fine for some amount of days usually like 4 or 5 days then when I try playing games I have very bad performance and severe stuttering in games and I tried multiple ways to fix it but nothing worked other than resetting windows

and I have to do this almost every 4 days and when I reset windows everything is working perfectly and it usually happens overnight like I would be playing normally on one day and go to sleep then I wake up the next day and I have stuttering that won't go away unless I reset windows

Hi@YoussefAhmed1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing performance issues with the HP Pavilion Gaming laptop.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Try reinstall the games and check if it works
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Updating Nvidia Driver
  • Uninstalling & Reinstalling Nvidia Driver
  • Maxing out power settings for maximum performance
  • First change the power mode to "Balanced" or "Better Performance" as the default setting.

    Secondly, go to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options" > "Change plan settings" > "Change advanced power settings"
    Scroll down, click on "Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Setting" > "Config TDP Level",
    Then select the middle value for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In".
    Thirdly, Scroll further down. Select "Processor power management";
    Then select "Maximum processor state";
    Change the value from 100% to 96% for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In" options.

    Right-click your desktop background and select NVIDIA Control Panel. You can also find this tool by performing a Start menu (or Start screen) search for NVIDIA Control Panel or by right-clicking the NVIDIA icon in your system tray and selecting Open NVIDIA Control Panel.

    To quickly set a system-wide preference, you could use the Adjust image settings with the preview option. For example, if you have old hardware that struggles to play the games you want to play, you may want to select “Use my preference emphasizing” and move the slider all the way to “Performance.” This trades graphics quality for an increased frame rate.

    By default, the “Use the advanced 3D image settings” option is selected. You can select Manage 3D settings and change advanced settings for all programs on your computer or just for specific games. NVIDIA keeps a database of the optimal settings for various games, but you’re free to tweak individual settings here. Just mouse-over an option for an explanation of what it does.

    If you have a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus technology — that is, both NVIDIA and Intel graphics — this is the same place you can choose which applications will use the NVIDIA hardware and which will use the Intel hardware.

    The last thing I can suggest trying to restore a computer back to the factory default using Reset PC within windows, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
