Hi @Einfochips,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

I’m sorry to hear your HP laptop isn’t powering on, especially when your work is blocked. Let’s get you back up and running as quickly as possible.

1. Basic Power Reset

  • Disconnect the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  • Try powering it on again.

2. Check for Signs of Life

  • Do any lights (charging, Caps Lock, power button) blink or stay on?
  • Do you hear fan noise or see the screen flicker briefly?

If you see blinking lights, let me know the pattern (e.g., 3 long blinks, 2 short) — it helps identify the issue.

3. Try a Hard Reset (for removable battery models)

If your laptop has a removable battery:

  • Remove the battery and unplug the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery and plug in the charger.
  • Try turning it on.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.

Thanks for being part of the HP Community!
