Hi @Boradeom,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're seeing a white line on your HP Pavilion Gaming laptop's display, this could be indicative of a few potential issues. Here’s how you might address it:
Diagnosing the White Line Issue
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the screen for any visible cracks or damage that might be causing the white line.
Restart Your Laptop:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve display issues. Power off your laptop, wait a few seconds, and then power it back on.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager on Windows, find your display adapter, and update the graphics driver to ensure it’s the latest version.
Check External Display:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV. If the white line does not appear on the external display, the issue is likely with the laptop’s screen rather than the graphics card.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Power down your laptop, unplug it, remove the battery (if removable), and then press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect everything and power it back on.
Test in Safe Mode:
- Boot your laptop into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the line does not appear in Safe Mode, it may be related to software or driver issues.
Check Display Cable Connection:
- If you're comfortable with hardware, you can check the internal display cable connection (typically requires disassembling the laptop). Sometimes, a loose or damaged cable can cause display issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
