Hello to everybody,
I am owner of Omen Gaming Laptop 16.1. I Encountered a problem with OMEN Light Studio. The problem is that it says my device is not supported by OMEN Light Studio. I checked the compability on the official website, where it says "yes" and event checked at Virtual assistant, which one aproved compability of my laptop and OMEN Light studio. I tried to download drivers and reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub and Light Studio but it didin't help. Looking for any advices to resolve this problem.
Best regards, Hisetsu.

@Hisetsu, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're encountering an issue where OMEN Light Studio reports your device is not supported, despite it being listed as compatible. Let's walk through a few steps to resolve this:
Ensure OMEN Gaming Hub and Light Studio Are Properly Installed
- OMEN Light Studio is a separate app that runs within OMEN Gaming Hub.
- First, uninstall both OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN Light Studio completely.
- Then reinstall them in this order:
- Download and install OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store.
- Launch OMEN Gaming Hub and install OMEN Light Studio from within the app (you’ll see it as a card or in the sidebar).
Check for Required Services
Make sure the following services are running:
- OMEN Gaming Hub Background Service
- HP System Event Utility Service
You can check this by:
- Pressing Win + R, typing services.msc, and pressing Enter.
- Locate the services above and ensure their Startup Type is set to Automatic and they are Running.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Outdated firmware or drivers can cause detection issues:
- Visit the HP Drivers Page for your model.
- Download and install:
- Latest BIOS
- HP System Event Utility
- OMEN SDK Package
- Intel/AMD Chipset Drivers
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
To rule out hardware issues:
- Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Tool. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
- Run a full system test, especially focusing on the keyboard and lighting components.
Try a Clean Boot
Sometimes third-party software interferes:
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager. Disable all startup items.
- Restart your PC and try launching OMEN Light Studio again.
