Question about Ram for the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop -15z-ec200

For this gaming laptop I wanted to upgrade the ram capacity from 8gb(2x4gb) to 12gb(1x4gb, 1x8gb).

I was wondering if...

1. I were to upgrade the Ram, would this increase gaming performance in anyway?

2. What exact model and brand of Ram should I use for the upgrade? (An amazon link would be very helpful!)

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop -15z-ec200 is a CTO machine, I can't get its specs. But

A1. More RAM will get a bit better because games normally need CPU and GPU which are non upgradable

A2. I use the following machine which is on the same series/family of your machine to answer your question

Based on your description of your lap, I recommend you search: 4G 2666 on Amazon, all you can see can be available for you, like this. But if you want a better performance of your games, why don't you choose an SSD? Many players would consider SSD as the first choice to improve the game performance. Hmmm, you can check more about RAM and SSD at first, then you select a better one.
