Omen 17-an001ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey all, can someone please tell me the maximum RAM upgrade for my HP omen 17-an001ca? Purchased with 12 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1x4 GB, 1x8 GB).

I assume I can upgrade to 16 by replacing the 4GB with an 8. Can I install more than that? Do the DIMMs have to be 2400? Thanks for your replies.

Also--pretty sure this is not possible, but I'll confirm--can I increase the RAM on the onboard GTX 1050?

Hi:

You should be able to install up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory in your notebook, according to chapter 1 of the service manual.

You can install faster memory than 2400 MHz, but it is only going to run at a max speed of 2400 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

You are correct.  The video memory is not adjustable.
