Omen 15-dc0082tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 8gb of ram in my laptop. I wanna make use of the second slot and add more ram. Can you please let me know what is the maximum ram Mhz that can be added to my laptop. Corrently it can 2666 mhz ram. If a ram of higher frequency can be added then I ould replace the current one too.

2) Also, the power rating of my current ram is 1.2V. If I use a ram of higher V, will it affect the motherboard.

3) Will it void the warranty?

Please help me select the most powerful ram that my laptop can support.

Hi:

Below is the link to the crucial memory report for your model notebook.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-omen-15-dc0082tx

According to the report, you can install as much as 2 x 16 GB of memory.

The processor cannot run the memory any faster than 2666 MHz, so you should buy a 2666 MHz memory chip.

You cannot use any other memory with a higher voltage.  DDR4 memory is 1.2V.

Since this is a peer to peer forum, we cannot write on behalf of HP with any warranty terms.

Generally, you will not void the warranty unless you break something in the process of upgrading the notebook.

Below is the link to the service manual which should help you open up the notebook without guessing how to do it.
