HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1016ax
Microsoft Windows 11

I want to upgrade my RAM, however I don't know whether this laptop RAM is upgradable. I am thinking of adding a 8GB DDR4 RAM over my exising 8GB DDR4 RAM. Or is it better to just replace the existing 8 to a 16 or 32GB?

Laptop Specs: HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1016ax

Chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide indicates that your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1016ax - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

Chapter 5 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.

If you feel that one day you want to max out the memory, then I recommend you install a 16 GB memory chip.

If you feel that you will never want or need more than 16 GB of memory, buy an 8 GB memory chip.
