Hello there,

I'm having the exact same problem the OP has; In particular the letter "r" doesn't work when used in conjunction with "w/a/s/d" and after pressed those letters singularly or at the same time.

I have a ryzen7 4800h with rtx 2060 version,  and I just bought it a month ago. At this point I'd like to know if I should send it back or it is just a software bug that needs to be solved.

Please let me know, thanks.

@Amarasco

Have you tried the suggested steps?

If yes, then I recommend you contact support to further diagnose the issue.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!

Hello,

I'm trying to follow the suggested steps (update BIOS and chipset drivers) but when I click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers  in order to update the chipset drivers, it doesn't load.

Is there another way to do so?

Please let me know, thanks!

Download and install the HP support assistant from the below link and it will automatically find and install all the latest drivers available for your computer.

Hello there and happy 2021,

I tried everything you suggested and downloaded all the drivers available; it didn't solve the problem.

The "r" key sometimes works sometimes doesn't and it's happening quite often now. I found out that the ONLY way I can use the letter r (when it doesn't work) is with pressing the letter d and r suddenly after.

Can I please receive further assistance on this?

Thanks in advance.

*UPDATE* The "r" key doesn't work anymore by itself.
