Hi @KunfuPanda,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Omen 15 EN-1036AX laptop is producing crackling or ticking sounds through the Realtek audio driver, even after updating all drivers and the operating system. Let's go through a few steps to resolve this.

a. Switch to Microsoft's Generic Audio Driver

Many users have found that switching to the generic Windows audio driver resolves crackling issues.

Open Device Manager.

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

Right-click on Realtek High Definition Audio and select Update driver.

Choose Browse my computer for drivers.

Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.

Choose High Definition Audio Device and click Next.

Restart your laptop.

This method has been effective for many users experiencing similar issues. Reddit

b. Disable Audio Enhancements

Audio enhancements can sometimes cause interference.

Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.

Go to the Playback tab.

Right-click on your default playback device (e.g., Speakers) and select Properties.

Navigate to the Enhancements tab.

Check Disable all enhancements.

Click Apply, then OK.

Disabling enhancements has helped resolve crackling sounds for some users. Reddit

c. Adjust Power Settings

Power settings can affect audio performance.

Open Control Panel and go to Power Options.

Select High performance.

Click on Change plan settings next to the selected plan.

Click on Change advanced power settings.

Expand Processor power management and set Minimum processor state to 100%.

Click Apply, then OK.

Adjusting power settings can improve overall system performance, potentially reducing audio issues.

I hope this helps.
