Yes you can replace the existing HDD with an SSD.
But you have other options.
You should have an M.2 slot available.
Then you could install an M.2 SSD for boot and use the 1TB HDD for storage.

Click on Base Enclosure.
Check and make sure the M.2 slot is attached to the system board.
