@i-need-help--, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your built-in camera stopped working and you deleted the driver, but now you're unable to find a replacement. Let's get your camera working again with the following steps:
Check Windows Updates
Sometimes, Windows automatically reinstalls missing drivers:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update
- Click Check for updates
- Install any available updates and restart your laptop
Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can detect and install missing drivers:
- Download it from HP Support Assistant - HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Install and open the app
- Click Updates and Messages and follow prompts to install the camera driver
Download Drivers from HP Website
Visit the official HP driver page for your laptop:
- Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0xxx Drivers
- Select your Windows version
- Look under Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices or Driver - Original
- If no camera driver is listed, it may be managed by Windows Update
Use Device Manager
- Press Windows + X → select Device Manager
- Click View > Show hidden devices
- Look under Imaging Devices, Cameras, or Unknown Devices
- If found, right-click → Update driver → Search automatically
Install Generic Microsoft Driver
If the camera still doesn’t appear:
- In Device Manager, right-click the missing camera device
- Choose Update driver → Browse my computer
- Select Let me pick from a list → choose USB Video Device
Reset the Camera App
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps
- Find Camera, click Advanced options
- Scroll down and click Reset
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
