Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

I just bought this laptop 2months ago, and i tested it with gaming. When i played GTA V on it, it reaches 87 to 91 celsius and sometimes spikes at 93-95. I watched some gaming tests on YT with this laptop and they aren't reaching this temps. The GPU is super chill with 40-50+ celsius. I bought a cooling pad but seems like the Gpu is the only affected. Now, i'm planning to undervolt this or do anything just to solve this problem. I'm super worried. This is definitely not normal and i don't know what should i do.

5CD5075620 is the serial number. I play Ghost of tsushima with 70+ celcius on my cpu but when i play GTAV or Apex Legends, it gets to 93 max. Why is this happening. This is very bad

Hi @kent4ro-,

Thank you for your response.

It’s definitely concerning that your CPU is hitting those high temperatures, especially during gaming sessions. Here's a breakdown of why this might be happening:

Different Game Loads:

Ghost of Tsushima and GTAV/Apex Legends have different performance demands on your CPU and GPU. Ghost of Tsushima is a more CPU-intensive open-world game, but it likely isn't stressing your CPU as much as GTAV or Apex Legends. The latter are both high-performance, multiplayer-focused games, where the system may need to process more network data and real-time calculations (like physics and AI for many players), causing higher CPU loads.

Apex Legends (especially) could be more GPU-intensive too, but it likely leans more heavily on your CPU to manage network traffic and other game logic, especially in multiplayer lobbies.

Thermal Management Issues:

Thermal paste could be degraded or improperly applied, causing heat transfer between the CPU and the cooler to be less effective.

Dust buildup inside your PC could be blocking airflow, which reduces cooling efficiency, causing the CPU to overheat.

Cooling solution: If you’re using a stock cooler or a less efficient cooling system, it might struggle to manage higher loads during intensive games like GTAV or Apex Legends.

Power Delivery (Thermal Throttling):

Power supply issues or how the CPU is getting power could lead to performance degradation and higher temperatures. If the CPU isn't being adequately powered (or if it's being overpowered), it could lead to throttling or overheating.

In some cases, overclocking (if applicable) could cause your CPU to run hotter. If it's not overclocked but has power delivery issues or aggressive power settings, that might be part of the issue.

Game Settings/CPU-GPU Balance:

If your GPU is bottlenecking in these games, your CPU might be under heavy load to compensate. Try lowering GPU-demanding settings (like resolution or shadows) to see if it alleviates the stress on your CPU.

Conversely, if your CPU is the bottleneck, this would explain the spikes in temperature. Reducing the game's CPU demands (e.g., lowering AI complexity, reducing player counts) can help.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
