Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa2000 (A8VY0AV)

Hi everyone,

I own an HP Victus 2701TX laptop and I'm planning to upgrade the SSD. However, I have a concern regarding my warranty status. Will upgrading the SSD on my laptop void the warranty, or is this considered an acceptable upgrade?

I would appreciate any clarification or guidance from the community.

Thanks in advance!

Hi:

This is a peer-to-peer forum.

We do not work for or represent HP, so we are unable to reply on HP's behalf regarding the warranty terms and conditions.

I recommend you contact HP customer service and seek an official answer from HP.

Chapter 5 of the service manual indicates that installing SSD's or memory is a customer-authorized procedure, so off the record, I would assume that you will not void the warranty unless you break something in the process of doing the upgrades.

One thing that you should be aware of...if the notebook ever needs warranty service, you must return the notebook to its original hardware configuration, which means you have to reinstall the original drive it came with.
