hello I have a HP 17.3 "OMEN 17-an120nr I need to know what type of ssd a m2 sata or m2 pcie is installed in. The manual says m2 pcie while in the laptop i see a m2 sata.

You specs say it came with an HDD, not m.2

But you can add an NVMe m.2 SSD if you choose.

yes I can install a ssd m2 but the question is what kind ssd m2 sata or ssd m2 pcie. In the manual you can show install ssd m2 pcie but on my laptop is installed a ssd m2 sata as you can see from the picture.ssd m2 pcie.jpg
