The screen freezes while playing games. The computer does not react to anything. I can only shut down the computer with the power button. I installed clean windows. Windows is up to date. BIOS is up to date. The game I play is: Apex Legends. I play at the lowest settings. What should I do? Could you help? Thank you.

@CeydaSuzer, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Does this issue occur only while playing this specific game?
  • Have you checked with any other applications or games?

Check if the game meets the system requirements.

Make sure the BIOS version is F.21

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

  • Go to Start Menu > click on Settings.

  • Type performance > choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

  • In the new window, go to the Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance.

  • Click Apply and ok...this should do the trick.

Also, perform the steps mentioned in this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
