Dear HP support,
It has been around 2 years since ı bought this laptop. I don't play games with it but I use it for coding. I tried to use eco mode and it shows that it is on eco mode. I turned down/off everything that is no use to me. However, the battery life is very short ,around an hour. I feel like there s sth ı don't know about extending the battery longevity. I have friends using their laptops almost for 5 hours. I don't know what is wrong with this one.
I hope ı get an answer real quick.
Thanks in advance
Serkan

@Methamafoz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Short Battery Life on HP Laptops!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
There are several steps you can take to extend the battery life of your HP laptop. Even though you've already enabled eco mode and turned off unnecessary features, there may still be underlying issues or settings to adjust:
Battery Health Check:
- Run HP Battery Check to diagnose the health of your battery. This tool is part of the HP Support Assistant. If you don't have it installed, you can download it from the HP Support page.
Power Settings Adjustments:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep and make sure your power plan is optimized for battery life. You can adjust advanced power settings by clicking on Additional power settings.
Battery Saver Mode:
- Enable Battery Saver mode by going to Settings > System > Battery and toggle on Battery Saver when the battery is below a certain percentage.
Update Drivers and BIOS:
- Ensure that your laptop's BIOS and drivers are up to date. You can do this through the HP Support Assistant or manually by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest drivers for your model.
Turn Off Background Apps:
- Disable background applications that you don't need. Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and turn off apps that you do not use.
Reduce Screen Brightness:
- Lower your screen brightness. High screen brightness can significantly drain your battery. You can adjust this through Settings > System > Display or using the brightness control keys on your keyboard.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
