So recently I just bought a new gaming laptop and discovered that when I plug it in I get better gaming results as it has access to more power, but I can't help but worry about the fact that if I leave the charger in constantly it might damage or break my laptop, bearing in mind at night time I switch off the plug that charges my laptop anyway but since it is always at 100% I'm afraid it will break it, thanks for the help!

You're very welcome.
If you always intend to leave the notebook plugged in all the time, then you can leave the battery out indefinitely.
What I prefer to do is every two weeks, I unplug the notebook and run it off the battery until the low battery warning comes on.
Then I plug in the charger again.
I repeat this process every two weeks.

Hi:
If you have not done so already, you can change the default power plan when on battery to use the maximum settings for the processor and graphics.

While you will not damage the notebook by leaving it plugged in all the time, you will cause the battery to last a shorter time than if you followed the battery care practices at the link below...one of which suggests that you either remove the battery or run the notebook off the battery, every two weeks or so.
