Hp Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I've had my HP Omen since 2018, but a few months ago I started having some issues. It runs slow, takes a minute to open browsers or games, and sometimes it runs so slow I have no choice but to restart it completely. When it does that I found out it's running at 100% disk. I've tried a few things, such as disabling superfetch (which helped for a little bit), running CCleaner, scanning for viruses, and clearing disk space, but nothing permanently helps. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Firstly what is your Omen ? Please use Task Manager, sort col Disk to find out which one is the culprit and post back with the model/product of your machine.

Regards.

I also need to know which one is the culprit. The specs of your machine is

            https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05835485

It has  8 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now. Quick fix: you can upgrade to 16GB to reduce swapping/paging by adding same existing RAM to slot 2 or use the following RAM

https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs824a/ct12198504                   (RAM will run at 2133MHz)

Again, this should reduce swapping/paging from memory to disk and disk will be less busy.

Regards.

@Banhien Thank you for your reply. If by culprit you mean what's at the top of the task manager list for Disk, there is none. Nothing is running high enough to stay at the top. Is the extra RAM still your suggestion?
